Friday Reads 10/20/2023
All in all, this has been a pretty good week. No catastrophes. No trips to the emergency. It's been pretty good. The weather is too hot, but that's a common complaint of mine. Anyway, here's what I'm reading.
Tombstone: The Earp Brothers, Doc Holliday, and the Vendetta Ride From Hell by Tom Clavin - I started this on Wednesday and I laughed several times in the first 30 pages. That's a good sign. It is the last of my 50-by-50 books and I'm so glad it's fun. At least it's starting out that way.
One of Us Is Back by Karen M. McManus - I finally started this one. It's the third in a YA thriller series about teens in a super messed up town in Southern California. All the kids from the first 2 books are back and someone is being shady. One girl was drugged, kidnapped, and left in an equipment shed at the high school. It's a page turner and I can usually read 50 pages in a lunch hour.
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas - I don't think it will take too long to finish One of Us Is Back, so then I'll hop back over to this one for my lunch time entertainment. I started it awhile back and kind of abandoned it when something shinier came along.
I have discarded the idea of reading the books for the convention I'm going to next weekend. I decided they didn't look that interesting. I read the one my friend wrote and was kind of underwhelmed. I'll just go back to reading what I want.
If I manage to finish Tombstone in the next week, I'll pick something from my shelves to read. There are plenty to choose from.
