Friday Reads 1/12/2024

I'm sorry I've been MIA this week. It's been weird with schedule changes and a hyooge to-do list. Anyway, it is now time to talk about my reading. My favorite thing!

We are supposed to get nailed with a big winter storm on Sunday. I'll believe it when I see it, but if it does happen, I will get lots of extra reading time! I don't have anything at all scheduled on Monday either. So much reading time! Hooray!

Here's what I will be reading.

Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett - I am currently in between books at home right now. I finished one yesterday and I worked late and didn't have time to start a new one last night. I don't know if I'll have any time tonight to read either, so this may have to wait until tomorrow. Nevertheless, it is my next planned read.

The Perfect Guy Doesn't Exist by Sophie Gonzales - I am really hoping to finish this one up tomorrow. It is on my Kindle that I read at lunch at work. I am 80% through and it reads really quickly. I don't love it, but it has some good things to say and again, it reads quickly.

Just Us: An American Conversation by Claudia Rankine - I picked this up off the shelf at the library in a bored moment and swept through 80 pages. There are a lot of pictures and white space so it goes fast. The topic is not easy, though. It is basically about racism and how the author has experienced it and tried to fight it. It's fascinating.

Joy at Work: Organizing Your Professional Life by Marie Kondo and Scott Sonenshein - I feel like my work life is pretty organized, but I will see if she has any brilliant things I can use to improve.

The Mystery Writer by Sulari Gentill - When I finish the Perfect Guy book, I'll start this on my Kindle. It is a NetGalley book that I need to review before Feb. 1. I really liked the last one by this author.

I think that does it. It's a lot, but the books are spread out throughout my life, so it's a little here a little there.

What are you reading this week?
