Need to Read
Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic is Unread Books on My Shelves That I Want to Read Soon. If I were to take the easy way out, I would just link to my Goodreads shelf of books on my shelves. There are approximately 418 books on that shelf and therefore on my physical shelves. But I will do the work and make a list of ten.
I went through my list of owned books and chose 10. I did not choose any of the books from my 10 oldest books on my TBR challenge, nor did I choose any I planned to read for my Magical Readathon in April. First, I had a little think and wrote down titles of books I've been thinking about lately that I've wanted to jump to the top of the list. Then I went through the "on my shelf" list and jotted down any titles that jumped out at me as books I would like to read soon. I did not choose any books I have acquired this year.
So here we go!
The Lost Girls: An Unsolved American Mystery by Robert Kolker - I have had this book for awhile, but it moved up my list when they solved the case. They arrested the guy.
Atomic Habits: An Easy and Proven Way to Build Good Habits and Break Bad Ones by James Clear - Practically everyone I know loves this book. I've had it on my list numerous times and not gotten to it. But I really do want to read it.
The Queen's Man by Sharon Kay Penman - I'm intrigued by this. I didn't realize she wrote mysteries. I thought she wrote fantasy. I mean, I can see how mideval mystery could be mistaken for fantasy. A lot of fantasy is drawn from that time. But still.
Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller - This is the first book in a series by an author whose work I already know and love, I just came later to the Levenseller game. Pirates!
Faithful Place by Tana French - I loved the first two books in this series. I just never went on to the next one. Now she has tons of other books I haven't picked up because I haven't finished this one.
The Three-Body Problem by Cixin Liu - This is being made into a movie and I've heard the book is amazing. Science Fiction by a Chinese author? Yes please.
The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson - I have started this before and got side-tracked. I really want to read his books. This is epic fantasy with a really cool magic system.
Miniatures and Morals: The Christian Novels of Jane Austen by Peter J. Leithart - I haven't read a book about Austen in a minute. This one is nice and short.
Dune by Frank Herbert - Now that the second movie has come out, I might consider reading the first book. I'm way behind my friends.
What You Are Looking For Is In the Library by Michiko Aoyama - I don't actually know what this is about but it says Library in the title and there is a cat on the cover. Sounds like a winner.
Ok. There are my 10 books. What unread books would you like to read soon?
