Friday Reads 8/16/2024
I had a whole list of posts to make this week, and then it got busy and dramatic and I didn't do any of them. I am, however, able to get my Friday Reads post in here.
I haven't done a ton of reading this week (see above statement about business) so this list won't be a lot different from last week's.

Astoria: John Jacob Astor and Thomas Jefferson's Lost Pacific Empire by Peter Stark - I have made it past the halfway mark. I think I have about 70 pages left. I swear I am enjoying it when I read, but I tend to fall asleep. This book is not good anti-narcolepsy fodder.

The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Bronte - I have read exactly one chapter of this book. I think it's going to take awhile. I mean, it will if I only read one chapter a week! I've got to figure out how to prioritize this one. Maybe I'll get it for my Kindle. The copy I have has really tiny print.

Chronicles of My Alien Invasion Life by Jes McCutchen - One of the things that kept me busy this week was a flurry of activity around getting an author to come speak at my library. This book is by that author. I've already read her other one, but I might want to have read her whole catalog before I interview her.
When I finish Astoria, I think I'll pick up another mystery.

The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley - I recently listened to an interview with this author, and I really liked her. Hopefully being a thriller will make this one a quick read.
After that, it's anyone's guess what I pick up. That is a future Adrienne problem.
