September Library Update
A few things have actually changed since last month! Let's review.
Checked Out
Any Person Is the Only Self by Elisa Gabbert - I am halfway through this one, but it's due today. Someone is waiting for it. Better read fast! It's a collection of essays about books and reading. Just my jam.
On Hold
Colton Gentry's Third Act by Jeff Zentner - I am convinced this will come out in paperback before my hold comes in. I am not paying hardcover prices for a book I will likely finish in two days. Nope. If it does come out in paperback first, I'll buy that. I am now first on the list. I guess all those people ahead of me found it elsewhere.
Never Saw Me Coming by Tanya Smith - This is the one about the teen scam artist. Still waiting for this one. It published in August, but the library is still waiting for our copies. harrumph!
A Dark and Drowning Tide by Allison Saft - This one is for an online book club I want to follow. It just came out last week, so of course we are still waiting for ours. I hope it comes before the book club stuff happens. I hate when book clubs choose brand new books. I'm not paying $25 for the hardcover. I don't even love to read hardcovers. If I'm going to pay money, I want the paperback. I am second on the hold list, so when this comes in I'll get my grubby mitts on it.
The Wild Robot by Peter Brown - Ok. This one is a contingency plan. I really don't feel like reading my original choice for "book being turned into a movie in 2024" so I chose another one. If I don't get to that one, or hate it for some reason, I have this on hold. I am number 14 on the list, so, it'll be a minute. It's a middle grade book, so it will read quickly.
An Academy for Liars by Alexis Henderson - This is another book club book. It also came out last week, and the library is waiting. Ugh. I am number 15 on this list. Actually, I really want to read this one, so even if I miss the book club talk, I will still read it.
Now or Never: Thirty-One On the Run by Janet Evanovich - This comes out in November and I am number 137 on the hold list. We'll be seeing this one on the list for awhile.
And that's it. A whole lot of waiting.
