Friday Reads 12/13/24

This week has absolutely flown by. I didn't even realize I hadn't posted all week, and here it is, Friday again.

The reason it has flown by is because it's been so busy. Monday was hair appointment, and errands, and ending with a bell show. Tuesday I worked until 9:00. Wednesday, we spent the whole day at the Performing Arts Center doing 3 shows. I got home at about 5:00 and slept on the couch. Thursday, I left work early to go to Muskogee for a show. Got home at 9:30. Today, I left work early to play a show in Jenks. Needless to say, I haven't had a ton of reading time. So here's where we are now.

Sixteen Scandals by Sophie Jordan - I will most likely wrap this one up tomorrow. Woohoo! This is a YA romance set in the Regency Era. It's cute. It's fluffy. Kind of the perfect thing to read in the middle of this chaotic time. It doesn't require a lot of brain power.

When I finish that one, I have several to choose from. I want something short, and probaby continue on in the fluffy vein, as well.

We Are the Light by Matthew Quick - This is described as heart-warming and an antidote to toxic masculinity. It might be as light and fluffy as I want, but it is quite short and I like Matthew Quick, in general.

Less by Andrew Sean Greer - This Is lighter, despite the Pulitzer. Arthur Less is a struggling novelist who gets an invitation to a wedding. His ex-boyfriend of nine years' wedding. He definitely doesn't want to go, but to decline looks like defeat, so he does that obvious thing: he accepts every literary invitation he has been invited to all over the world. He is suddenly far too busy to go to the wedding.

I'm not sure right now, which one of these I will choose, but I have a semblance of a plan.
