January 2025 TBR
Here we are at the very last day of 2024. What a ride. It has been a time. I will leave it to you to decide the quality of the time.
But since it is the last day of December, it is high time I decide what I plan to read in January.
Taking into consideration my new goals for 2025, I need to read a total of 6 books per month. 1 of those should be from my oldest books on my shelves list. 3 of those should be other books from my shelves. After that, it's whatever. So here's my list.

Eternity Street: Violence and Justice in Frontier Los Angeles by John Mack Faragher - I love a good Western history. Look at those dresses! I never thought about Los Angeles being a frontier town. It seems like it sprung up from the earth just as it is now. This is on my 10 oldest books on my TBR list.

We're Going to Need More Wine by Gabrielle Union - This is subtitled "stories", but it's my understanding that it is actually a memoir. It isn't very long and I know there is a sequel. I loved Union in several 90s movies, so I'm interested to hear her stories. This is from my shelves.

Blood In the Water: the Attica Prison Uprising of 1971 and its Legacy by Heather Ann Thompson - I may be sorry I put this on here, since it is over 750 pages, but I believe a lot of those pages are notes and stuff. This is from my shelves.

The Dead Duke, His Secret Wife, and the Missing Corpse: An Extraordinary Edwardian Case of Deception and Intrigue by Piu Marie Eatwell - I started this several months ago and ended up putting it down. This is my compensation for the massive book I have on this list. This one is short, and I've already read some of it. This is also from my shelves.
I decided to focus on my non-fiction shelves in January, if that wasn't obvious.

Colton Gentry's Third Act by Jeff Zentner - This came in for me while I was off for Christmas. I love that for me! I love Zentner's YA novels, so I hope this one is good even though it's about a country singer. This is a library book.

Cat + Gamer, Vol. 6 by Wataru Nadatani - I don't keep up with too many Manga series, but this one I do. These kitties are too cute! I am first on the list for this one, so I expect it will come in in January. This is also a library book.
And there it is. My list of possibilities for January!
