Friday Reads 3/28/2025

I did not post a Goodreads Update for March because I only added one book. I'll just tack it on to next month's update.

But now it's Friday! This weekend is pretty busy for me. On Sunday, my girls dance in church in the morning and I will probably nap between laundry loads in the afternoon. On Monday, I have two doctor appointments, a vet appointment, and bell rehearsal. I will probably get to read in waiting rooms, but that's about it. Sigh. I was hoping to finish one more book this month, but probably not.

That being said, let's look at what is on my stack.

The Paris Express by Emma Donoghue - This is my current lunch read. It moves really fast and I can read 30-35 pages each lunch hour. I'm 40% through it and I've had 3 reading sessions. It helps that it's not very long.

Love & Friendship: In Which Jane Austen's Lady Susan Vernon Is Entirely Vindicated by Whit Stillman - This one is going much slower. Probably because I'm reading it at home and I am not allowed to read more than a page before someone talks to me. I'm only a quarter of the way through this. It's not big, but dang am I slow. I am enjoying it.

The Millicent Quibb School of Etiquette for Young Ladies of Mad Science by Kate McKinnon - This will be my lunchtime read after I finish the Paris Express. Talk about a mood swing! It's less than 250 pages and, being a middle grade book, it has a lot of illustrations and white space on the page. I don't think it will take long to read.

The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst - I just noticed on my library account that this one is headed my way. It will probably come in Monday or Tuesday. So once I finish the McKinnon, this will be my lunch reading material.

And those are my plans. What are you reading this weekend?
