April Mid-Month Wrap-Up
I've only finished two books so far, but I felt like posting something, so here we are.

The Millicent Quibb School of Etiquette for Young Ladies of Mad Science by Kate McKinnon - Listen, I know the author is listed as G. Edwina Candlestank, but that name literally never shows up in the book. I have no idea who this person is supposed to be. So I'm boycotting the use of her name as author. Anyway, this was a madcap adventure. If I liked middle grade books, I probably would have liked it a lot more.

Great Big Beautiful Life by Emily Henry - I downloaded an Advanced Listening Copy of this from Libro.fm. Then I actually listened to it. So far, this heroine is my favorite of all of her books so far. Alice is a journalist who has tracked down a famous rich person from the past who has been disappeared since the 80s. She wants to write her biography. Only problem is, there's a guy who has also been called in. They both have a month to interview her and then pitch their ideas and she will choose who will write the book. The guy is tall and gorgeous and a pulitzer-prize-winning biographer, who is also a bit of a jerk. Ok a lot of a jerk. My favorite thing about Alice is how she doesn't let his cold demeanor keep her from messing with him. For example: she asks if he enjoyed growing up in Indiana. He says, "Why?", "Why what?", "Why do you want to know if I enjoyed growing up in Indiana?", "I'm thinking of buying it." Totally straight face. I literally snorted a laugh while driving my car. That kind of thing, throughout the book. Since it's a romance book, you obviously know they will end up together, but the way the plot twisted to get you there was really great. Do recommend.
So that's what I've read so far. Hopefully there will be more than two more books before the final wrap-up.
Happy reading!
