Reading In/Out 5-20-2025

Let's recap what I read this weekend. It wasn't much. I had a bout on Saturday evening where I just didn't feel like reading. I cleaned all the books off my piano bench and played piano for an hour, instead. Don't worry, the reading mojo came back.

The World Between Two Covers: Reading the Globe by Ann Morgan - I'm about half way through this, and I am pretty sure we are never getting to the part where she actually reads the books. It appears to be entirely about how hard it is to find books translated to English from various parts of the world. It's interesting, but I really want to hear about the reading.

Everything Is Tuberculosis by John Green - Is it my autism talking, or is having tuberculosis not as stigmatized as it used to be? Green writes about doctors dealing with patients in tears because they have TB instead of Cancer, because they are so embarrassed by it. Like, I have latent TB. I have to be careful, but I don't feel shame for it. Nobody has refused to be around me because of it. I'm not contagious. What the heck?

So that's it. Tuberculosis is due on Friday, so I really need to get that one done. It's very short, so it shouldn't be a problem. I read 3 chapters before work today.

I'm still 2 books behind on my reading goal, but whatever.
