Library Update June 2025

Some things are starting to move in my library account. Hooray!

CHECKED OUT

Such Charming Liars by Karen M. McManus - This is the only think I have checked out right now. I'm not hurrying through it. It doesn't have any holds on it, so I can just keep on reading it.

ON HOLD

Carving Shadows Into Gold by Brigid Kemmerer - I'm number 3 on the hold list, but we are still waiting for it to show up. I know the collection management team is scrambling because the new Brookside branch is opening this Fall and they are trying to process all the books for that location. The record indicates that we haven't even received the ordered copies from the publisher yet. It's okay. I still haven't read the first in the series.

The Amalfi Curse by Sarah Penner - Without going back to last month's post to check, I feel like I was number 12 on the list then. Now I'm number 9. This is a slow-moving list. I went and looked at the record. We "have" 12 copies, but only 6 of them are actually circulating. None of those six are overdue, so it is moving, just slowly. The other 6 copies are still in processing. Seriously?

Southern Living 2024 Annual Recipes - I have questions. I noticed that this finally showed as circulating. So I looked at the record. There are 72 copies of this in the system. There are 15 holds. How are so many copies just sitting around on shelves? SO MANY! I'm canceling my hold and going down to the second floor to grab one. Ridiculous.

Hidden Libraries by DC Helmuth - There are 37 holds for this, yet we are still waiting for delivery from the publisher. So sad. This is the one I'm most looking forward to!
