July 2025 TBR
This year is really getting away from me. I keep thinking we are about to start June, but no! July starts next week!
In looking at my contemporary bookshelf on Goodreads to prepare for making this list, I realized that my metadata on my shelves is not accurate. There are books on there that I am 100% positive are Book of the Month books, but they are not marked that way. And in picturing the actual shelves, I'm pretty sure there are more contemporary books physically on the shelves than are on the contemporary shelf on Goodreads. I need to investigate this further, but I do have some books I am positive are on the shelves and don't belong to some other category.

The Royal We by Heather Cocks & Jessica Morgan - Many years ago, these two had a fashion blog called Go Fug Yourself. This is a not-very-subtle, fictionalized version of the Kate Middleton/ Prince William romance. It came out 10 years ago, and the marriage is almost 15 years old. We'll see if this stands the test of time.

The Bookish Life of Nina Hill by Abbi Waxman - If I'm feeling like a light story about a book lover who would just like to be left alone, but finds out she has a large and very loud family she didn't know about, I'll grab this one.

The Bookshop on the Corner by Jenny Colgan - Similar for this one. Our main character is a librarian who suddenly loses her job in the big city. She moves to a small town and creates a traveling bookshop that she drives around and matches people up with the right book for them. It's a romance, so it will have a happily ever after. Probably with the grumpy landlord.

The Librarianist by Patrick deWitt - This is about a retired librarian who starts volunteering at a senior center. Somehow this becomes a vehicle for spilling his life's story. I don't know. That's just what I got from the summary. Anyway, I like Patrick deWitt and it's another book about a librarian.
Right. So those are the ones I'm sure are eligible for this shelf. I may post another time about other ones that I find on the actual shelves.
