Friday Reads 8/1/2025

I doubt there will be any surprises here today, but for the sake of continuity, I will post this.

The Country of Ice Cream Star by Sandra Newman - I am almost half way through this now. I sat down and read for an hour with minimal interruptions (hallelujah!). I set up a couch and lamp in the den so I can go hide in there for reading time. My son plays his games in there, but I can tune him out, he doesn't need to talk to me just because I'm there, and I won't bother him by being present. This will be my primary concentration until I finish it.

The Royal We by Heather Cocks & Jessica Morgan - Once I get through the first book up there, I don't think this will take nearly as long to get through. For one, it has 100+ fewer pages. Also, it has larger margins. Also also, it is written in regular English, and not a bizarre vernacular mash up of English, French, Spanish, and nonsense.

That's really all I've got. I would put Jane Austen on here, but there doesn't appear to be time coming up to really focus on that. Who knows, I could surprise myself.

What are you reading this week?
