Friday Reads 8-29-25
I am in a pickle. I am currently reading 5 books. The only one I'm really interested in reading is the audiobook, which I can't really do at home. I stood in front of my bookshelves last night waiting for something to jump off the shelves and say, "I'm the one!" But it didn't happen. I ended up reading a couple of chapters in one the books I'm already reading. I might be heading into a reading slump. Argh.
Anyway, here are the 5 books I'm currently in the middle of.

Jane Austen: Women, Politics, and the Novel by Claudia L. Johnson - Honestly, this is probably the one I'm most interested in reading. It also is the one that takes the most time and focus.

None Shall Sleep by Ellie Marney - This one has started making me anxious. Maybe this is not the right time for this one. Maybe I'm not the right reader. I will probably stop reading it, but I need to decide if I'm getting rid of it, or putting it back on the shelf for another time.

Navigating Difficult Situations In Public Libraries by Margaret Ann Paauw - This is obviously a work book. I am reading it at work, so it's not going very quickly.

The Good Vampire's Guide to Blood & Boyfriends by Jamie D'Amato - I am 78% of the way through this one, so it might be finished before I report back on Tuesday. I'm really enjoying this one. It's getting to the big climax now.

Now I Rise by Kiersten White - This is the one I picked up and read 2 chapters of last night. Since I don't really have time to focus on Jane, I pick this one up. It's the second in a trilogy, and it's been a hot minute since I read the first one, but I'm not having any trouble picking up the plot.
I'm really looking forward to putting together my September TBR. I can't wait to start thinking about other books. That post should go up tomorrow.
