Friday Reads 9/5/2025
Well, here we are. It's Friday. I don't really expect to have much reading time this weekend because on Sunday, I work from 12:30-5. Then I have bells from 5:30-6:30. Then dance from 7-8. Like, who do I think I am? My only hope is that I can read while I sit around all afternoon and wait for the heat and air guy on Monday. Nothing is wrong with the heat/air. We pay a subscription every month to have them come out twice a year and check the system. If something goes terribly wrong between checks, we pay less to fix it. So it is time for the check up.

Now I Rise by Kiersten White - This is the one getting the most attention right now because I can sit down and blow through 20 pages without looking up. It's YA so there's lots of space on the page.

Sisters in the Wind by Angeline Boulley - This is my audiobook for my commute, except that this morning I chose KPOP instead. I'll listen to some on my way home.

Jane Austen: Women, Politics, and the Novel by Claudia L. Johnson - Hopefully I will have the brain for this on Monday when I'm playing the hurry up and wait game. I did manage to read a chapter this week. Probably Monday when it was a holiday so no appointments.

Navigating Difficult Situations in Public Libraries by Margaret Ann Paauw - I've been averaging a chapter or two of this one a week. I am at least a third of the way through it now. Am I learning? A little. Some of it is about writing policies and that's not my thing.
I don't even have any ideas for what I would read if I finished something; that's how far I am from finishing. Luckily, I don't feel the itch to start something new right this second. Let's hold on to that.
