Reading In/Out 9-16-2025

Let me begin by saying, HOW!? How are we already halfway through September? I haven't done any of the things I was going to do in September. I am reading about 400 books at one time, though. Let's discuss.

I have decided to pare this post down to just books I've finished and books I've started. Make it a little more streamlined.

OUT

Sisters In the Wind by Angeline Boulle - I finished this yesterday because I had some long stints in my car going to get my hair done in Bixby and to bell rehearsal in mid-town Tulsa. Wow. This had me guessing almost up to the very end. And not all the good people made it out alive.

IN

The Love Haters by Katherine Center - I started this on audio just after I finished the Sisters in the Wind book. It's an entirely different vibe. This is a romance between a documentary videographer and a rescue swimmer with the Coast Guard. She is sent to Key West to create a promo for the Coast Guard featuring this guy that got famous for rescuing Jennifer Aniston's golden retriever. It's pretty funny so far. I'm 30% in and she's having an existential crisis because she is doing this gig and she doesn't know how to swim. Sexy Coast Guard guy is going to teach her, which isn't helpful because she doesn't want to be in a bathing suit near him.

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer - I decided to read this for the staff bingo situation we have going on at work. I needed to read a book that came out the year I started working at the library. This one fit the bill. I have a hardcover copy, but I didn't really want to lug that back and forth to work, so I checked my kindle. Hooray! I have a copy of it there, too! So today at lunch I started it. I'm 7% in. Also, it's probably the 5th time I've read it. It should go pretty quickly.

And there you go. At least I had something exciting to share. Ok. Maybe exciting is going too far. Something new.
