Friday Reads 10/17/2025
Friday again. Tonight is Nerd Night, so hooray for that! My bell choir rings in church Sunday, and I have a party to go to Sunday evening. Maybe I'll get some reading in between the two. Monday I have a nail appointment and I'm getting a crown put on before bell practice in the evening. I'm tired just looking at that calendar. All of this is to say that I don't foresee getting a lot of reading done this weekend, but a girl can dream.

Brave New World by Aldous Huxley - Yes, I'm still plugging through this one. I try to read a chapter before bed if I can. I'm about 80% through it. You'd think it wouldn't be that difficult to finish it off, but I'm pulled in too many directions to concentrate on any one thing.

Self-Care for People with ADHD by Sasha Hamdani - Again, I'm slowly getting through this one. 53% to be exact. It's very good, but in true ADHD fashion, I can only read a few pages before I get side-tracked by something else.

Empire of the Dawn by Jay Kristoff - I'm 40% through this one. Huzzah! I can basically only listen to it in my car because anywhere else, people talk to me and I lose the thread. So I get 20-30 minute doses at most. It's still good. I feel like it's just about time to switch points of view now. We'll see what happens.

Faithful Place by Tana French - I started this, read 3 chapters, and immediately put it aside to read library books. Oops.

The Invention of Charlotte Bronte: A New Life by Graham Watson - This is the library book in question. I started this because it has a due date. It probably will renew, but I worry that someone is waiting for it. It starts after her sisters have died and her cover is being blown. People are starting to know Currer Bell is actually Charlotte Bronte.
This is a lot of books on the go, but such is life.
