November TBR
I am many books behind my goal of reading 80 books this year. We are coming into the busiest time of the year, so it doesn't look like there's much extra reading time in my future. Oh well. A girl can dream.
There is one shelf left of my Reading From My Shelves challenge. And one book left on my Oldest Books on My Shelves challenge. Let's goooo!

The 33 by Hector Tobar - In 2010 a mine collapsed in Chile. 33 miners were trapped deep in the earth for 69 days. Somehow they all survived. While they were stuck down there, they agreed that if they made it out alive, they would only tell their story as a group. This is that story. This is the last of my 10 oldest books on my shelves. Woohoo!

The Island of Sea Women by Lisa See - This is the book club book for our first meeting of the Rebooted Tequila Mockingbirds. I'm about halfway through it now and it is very good. The meeting is the first Friday of November, so this will definitely get done.

Empire of the Dawn by Jay Kristoff - This book publishes Nov. 4. I have a copy winging its way to me. I may end up finishing this book in paper. I'm currently about 70% through it on audio. I definitely won't finish it before November 1. It's REALLY long!

The Invention of Charlotte Bronte: Her Last Years and the Scandal That Made Her by Graham Watson - Once I finish the mystery I'm going to try really hard to finish tomorrow, I will jump back into good old Currer bell.

Queen of All Mayhem: The Blood-Soaked Life and Mysterious Death of Belle Starr the Most Dangerous Woman In the West by Dane Huckelbridge - After Charlotte Bronte, I'll swing way the other direction and read about Belle Starr.

Cat + Gamer, Vol. 8 by Wataru Nadatani - I looked at my library account to see what else might show up in November and saw that this is on a truck coming to me now!
Now for my Shelf of the Month. This month's shelf is the Book of the Month Shelf. These are all the Book of the Month books I collected back when I was a member. There are 68 books on this shelf. I really want to read a lot of them, but let's be so for real right now. I will maybe get to one of them. There are already 6 books on my list. But here are some I will consider when it's time to pick one:

Pachinko by Min Jin Lee - This is the oldest BOTM book on my shelves. It is pretty long at almost 500 pages. Also, it's about a Korean family. I might want to make sure there is a good amount of time between Island of the Sea Women and this one.

Circe by Madeline Miller - I haven't read this yet. I loved The Song of Achilles, but I never went any farther.

Piranesi by Susanna Clarke - In related news, I haven't read this one either. It's pretty short, which makes it a good contender when I'm trying to read a bunch of books.

Red, White, & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston - This is over 400 pages, but as a romance I think it will read quickly.

A Rogue of One's Own by Evie Dunmore - Similarly, this is a romance and I read the first one in 2 days. Also, there's a kitty on the cover. And Parliament.

Brigands & Breadknives by Travis Baldree - I have an Advanced Listening Copy of this one. I probably won't finish it before it comes out on November 11, but I will at least have started it. I'll listen to this when I finish Empire of the Dawn or switch to the paper version.
So that about sums it up for my November reading plans as of now. Have you worked out what you plan to read?
