Friday Reads 11/7/2025
Friday!!! And the day of the first meeting of the book club reboot. I haven't read a lot the last couple of days, but I have finished 2 books this week. Here's what is on my pile this weekend. I have a 3-day weekend finally!!!

The Invention of Charlotte Bronte by Graham Watson - I have high hopes of finishing this over the weekend. It is a pretty quick read even though it has small print and is nonfiction. Who knew? The hardest part is keeping all of Charlotte's friends sorted. They are alternately called by their given names, their married names, and their titles.

Brigands & Breadknives by Travis Baldree - I'm listening to this on audio. It is significantly shorter than my last audiobook. I am already 20% through it. I probably won't finish it this weekend, but I figure I'll get to at least half way. We are following Fern, who was a friend of Viv in the first book. It's been 20 years since that first book and Fern is having a bit of an existential crisis. At the beginning of this one, she moves to Viv's town to open a bookstore. In just a few weeks she realized it hadn't filled the hole within her and she got drunk and stowed away on the cart of a famous elf. Once she sobers up, she's over a day away from home with no way to get back. The real story so far is about her adventures with this elf and the chaos-goblin the elf has eaptured for a bounty.

Queen of All Mayhem by Dane Huckelbridge - This is up next after the Charlotte Bronte book. Hopefully it reads as fast as that one.
And there you have it, folks. What are you reading this weekend?
