Reading In and Out 12/2/2025

Hello! I am actually with it enough to post about my reading! Please disregard any typos as I am not with it enough to guarantee quality.

OUT

Piranesi by Susannah Clarke - The end of this one certainly took a turn. What is with this satyr or faun or whatever it is on the front? The whole time I'm reading this book I'm thinking this is Piranesi. Spoiler: It's not. It was brilliantly written and definitely enjoyed the ride.

Sense and Suitability by Pepper Basham - I finished the last 7 minutes on Monday, but it was all just final sentences and author's notes, so I'm calling this one finished in November. This was very cute. I knew where it was going very early on, but I was interested to see how it got there.

IN

The Dangerous Love of a Rogue by Jane Lark - I'm almost 20% into this one and I'm not loving it. After 20% of the book, you'd think one of the main characters would have had a personality trait. Just one. But alas. He likes her because she has money, she's pretty, and everyone in her family is faithful to their marriage partners and appears to love them. He wants this for himself, but so far he's been a rake and a bit of a gigolo. She is attracted to his handsome face and the fact that he hasn't said or done a single gentlemanly thing yet. I figure the idea is that somehow he comes around to figuring out that she deserves an actual partner, not someone who wants to pretend at love. I'm continuing to listen for now, but I did just get a bunch of new audiobooks from LibroFm so if it doesn't get my attention soon I'll be moving on.

Kind Of Kin by Rilla Askew - I started this last night. I only got through about 30 pages before I was interrupted by yapping. I don't mean by my dogs. This is a reread for me, but it's been a very long time since I read it. Goodreads says I read it 10 years ago.

So there you have it. What I am reading now. What are you reading?
