Friday Reads 12/5/25
It's Friday, and I gotta tell ya. I'm super proud of the fact that I am still functional. Reason 1: My husband has been horribly sick since last Saturday. He and his brother both came down with something after spending Thanksgiving together. I wasn't there. My kids who were there, didn't get it either. It's so bad, he actually broke down and saw a doctor yesterday. He was prescribed two cough medicines, so let's hope he's going to be on the mend, soon. Reason 2: I am a third of the way through my insane concert schedule. Usually, I'm wrecked the day after a concert. We did 3 concerts this week, and I was at work by 8:30 today. No pain. I'm a little sleepy, but I blame that on the very boring work I was doing.
But let's talk books. I am ringing bells at a church for several hours Sunday morning. Not my church. This is a small ensemble from my premier bell choir I ring with. This church pays us to come ring Christmas tunes between their services. They also serve us hot chocolate and cookies, soooo... yeah, I'm doing that. After that we are going directly to my church for bell practice. With what is left of the afternoon, I can read and do chores. Then dance practice at night. Monday I have appointments all afternoon, then I have to get to Skiatook to ring a choir out there. Then, it's back to work on Tuesday and another week of work and concerts. Whoo! We'll see how much reading gets done.

The Dangerous Love of a Rogue by Jane Lark - At my last update, I wasn't sure I was going to make it through this book. Then suddenly I was 85%. I am now at 97% so it looks like I will finish. These people still don't have real personalities, but I guess I found something to pull me through it.

Kind of Kin by Rilla Askew - I'm about 20% into this one. What with not being home much, I haven't had time to read. I took down about 40 pages Monday evening, so it's pretty quick reading.

Stolen In Death by Nora Robb - I think I'm going to take a left turn for my next audiobook. This is the latest in a mystery series. Have I read the ones before this? No. Well, I've read a few. I kind of know what I'm getting into. And I don't think these have to be read in any particular order. It's not good literature. It's just fun.
So there we are. What are you working on this weekend?
