Friday Reads 12/12/2025

I am so incredibly happy to get to this weekend. This week was chaotic, to say the least. I rang 5 bell concerts this week. I thought by this point I would be done in. But I made it to work. I was 30 minutes late, but I made it. Every joint in my body hurts, but I made it. I gave myself permission to take today off if I needed it, but I decided to give it a go. I have one more bell concert on Monday night and we are done for the season. Woohoo!

Tonight is Nerd Night, which is always fun. When I get off work tomorrow, I do not have anything on my calendar until 6:00 Sunday night. Hooray! Reading time! Book club is in one week and I really need to get busy on that book.

On that note. Here's what I'm reading this weekend.

Kind of Kin by Rilla Askew - I'm almost halfway through this one. It reads quickly, but I have been a little busy the last two weeks. Hopefully I can get it knocked out this weekend.

Stolen In Death by J. D. Robb - I have approximately 7 minutes left in this one. I have to have an MRI this afternoon, and I figure this will wrap up on my way to that appointment. It's really fun. It doesn't matter that it is the latest in a huge series. There are a couple of references to things from past books, but they don't have any bearing on this plot, so it's not a problem.

Every Day I Read: 53 Ways to Get Closer to Books by Hwang Bo-Reum - I probably don't have to tell you why this is interesting to me, but I will. Firstly, BOOKS! I love to read about books. Secondly, there are kitties on the cover with the books. Always a good sign. Thirdly, it is less than 4 hours long. I can wrap that up in just a few days. I'm still a few books behind on my reading goal and this would help a lot. I guess that's it, but it's enough, I think. I'm downloading the audio now so I can have it ready when the other one ends.

The 33 by Hector Tobar - The cover says it is by Hector Tobar, but it's a collaborative effort from all 33 of the miners trapped in that mine for 69 days or whatever it was. They vowed if they ever got to tell their story, they would tell it together or not at all. This is the last book on my 10 oldest books challenge list. It also only has 320 pages, which will hopefully make it a quick one.

And that is pretty much what we are looking at for this week. Do you have reading plans? Do share.
