Friday Reads 1/9/26

Prepare yourself for a repeat of Tuesday's post. Nothing has changed. Well, one thing. I'll get to that.

Hearts In Circulation by Sarah Monzon - This one is currently on hold. Not because I'm enjoying music on my sick new car stereo. No. Because my car with the sick stereo is in the shop getting an upgrade and the car I've been loaned does not connect with my phone. I took my car in Wednesday morning. They said it's usually a same-day thing, but it might be tomorrow. Today is Friday. Not only is it not done, but now it won't be done until Monday. I'm beyond irritated. Ugh. Moving On!

First Impressions by Charlie Lovett - I am over half way through this one. I'm enjoying it, but I have a few issues. Sophie is too trusting of the hot guy. He's probably a murderer. I like the Jane Austen side of the story. It's sad, though. It's all highly unprobable. I'm reserving judgment until I finish.

Meditations by Marcus Aurelius - Let's see. What page have I made it to in this one? Ah yes. Page 11. I don't have a lot of time to devote to this and it requires brain.

The King's Ransom by Janet Evanovich - I've read this at lunch this week and am on page 69. I'm enjoying it. When I finish the Charlie Lovett, I will bring this home and knock it out.

Medicine River: A Story of Survival and the Legacy of Indian Boarding Schools by Mary Annette Pember - I don't even remember where I saw this. Some new books list or best of the year or something. I checked to see if the library had it and they did so I put it on hold. It is currently on my desk at work waiting for a chance to get to it.

Red Rising by Pierce Brown - I just realized that book club is in two weeks. With the way I've been reading lately, I really need to start this one ASAP. Welp. Wish me luck!
