Reading In/Out 1/13/2026
The amount of time I spent trying to remember what day it is... quite frankly it's embarrassing. Especially since I am sitting at a computer with the damn date right in the corner. ANYWAY... Let's talk about books.
Still reading:

Hearts in Circulation by Sarah Monzon - Would you believe I am at the 50% mark on this one? I had this horrible loaner car that forced me to listen to the radio. Eventually, I just turned this audiobook on my phone, cranked the volume, and put it in my cupholder. I could hear it just fine and I didn't have to listen to radio ads.

First Impressions by Charlie Lovett - I am almost 2/3 through it, but I was really feeling the pressure to start the book club book, so I'm only reading a few pages before bed now. It'll get done eventually.

Meditations by Marcus Aurelius - I am literally reading this one paragraph at a time. I read a paragraph. Re-read it. Think about it. Read it one sentence at a time. Write down my thoughts. See if I can suss out a theme to the paragraph (often I cannot). And then close the book until next time. I am on page 13 now.

The King's Ransom by Janet Evanovich - This one did actually make it to my house where it has been languishing on the side table while I focus on my book club book.
IN

Red Rising by Pierce Brown - This is the book club book. It has exactly 400 pages. At this point, that means reading 37 pages a day to finish it in time. Considering that there are several days in which I will be reading nothing at all (like today) it will be even harder. This is why I am putting everything else aside to try to get this behemoth done. Thank God bells hasn't started yet.
Am I reading 5 books at once? Yes. Yes I am. I hope to finish at least 4 of them this month. That would be spectacular. Reading a little here and a little there. It'll happen eventually.
