Friday Reads 6/26/26

I can't believe I remembered to post this today! I thought yesterday was Saturday all day long.

The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss - I seems like no matter how long I read, I can only read 25 pages of this at a time. Every time I finish a reading spell and log the pages read in my app, it's always just about 25 pages. Now, there are a lot of words on those 25 pages, but it makes for a very slow read.

The King in Yellow by Robert William Chambers - I'm listening to this on audio. I will say it's very weird. It's a collection of short stories all featuring this play called The King in Yellow. When anyone reads this play, the go insane. I'm officially past the half way mark in this one, but I don't know if I'll get it finished this weekend. I'm not planning to do a lot of driving, so it doesn't look good.

The Night Tiger by Yangsze Choo - This one reads quite a bit faster than my other print book. I'm only 20% through it, but I haven't had a ton of reading time in it. I do have several days ahead of me with not a lot going on, so hoopefully I can make some progress here.

This weekend I am mostly focused on taking care of my kid post-surgery. They are doing really well, all things considered. They say it is easier than recovering from hernia repair surgery 5 years ago. I have Nerd Nite tonight which cuts into my reading time, but since I'm off work, it evens out. I have an appointment tomorrow to get my nose piercing changed out, but that will probably be a 30 minutes or less situation. Sunday is my wedding anniversary, but we haven't really talked about what we're doing to celebrate. Maybe dinner? I don't know. I have two appointments on Monday, which cuts into my time quite a bit, but one of them is medical so I'll take a book along and work on it during waits.

I'm off work until Tuesday, so I do have more time than a usual weekend. Exciting!
