Friday Read 7/31/2026

While nothing extraordinarily chaotic happened this week, I still feel like it was a lot. Unsurprisingly, that means I am trying to read a lot of books at once.

The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss - This is top priority this weekend. I sat down with my library copy last night and read the missing 63 pages. I would have read more, but I needed to go to bed. I will definitely be finishing this one this weekend!

Immortal Game by Allison Saft - I am at the 70% mark in this one. There is a solid chance I could finish it this weekend. It depends on how much driving I do. I'm not about to listen to it anywhere else. I get interrupted too much for that.

Who Is Government? by Michael Lewis - I am about halfway through this, but it's still my work read. I doubt I will finish it before Tuesday, but I will make some progress.

The Last Contract of Isako by Fonda Lee - When I finish The Name of the Wind, this will be my primary read. I'm only 20% in, but a lot has happened, and it is really good.

The Wisteria Society for Lady Scoundrels by India Holton - This is my fun read, for if life gets too overwhelming and I need something light. I'm not quite 15% through it, but it is highly entertaining.

I'm not even going to attempt to plan something to read after these. You'll notice I haven't posted an August TBR. I just can't settle on something.

Tonight is Nerd Nite, so there will be no reading. We have Game Night tomorrow night, which means no reading then. But Sunday and Monday both have clear calendars. Chores and reading may commence.
