Friday Reads on Saturday 8/8/2026

Yesterday was a wild ride. I was so busy, I didn't even think about posting. So, here I am a day late. I don't think you'll find any surprises here.

Who Is Government? by Michael Lewis, et. al. - I probably could have finished this this week if I had eated lunch at work. I did to the 67% mark, but then I didn't eat lunch Thursday or Friday, and therefore didn't have reading time. Sigh. Maybe next week.

The Last Contract of Isako by Fonda Lee - This is pretty fantastic. I wasn't feeling the best on Monday last week and I read it for two straight hours. I made it to the half way mark. It's a pretty big book, so it took awhile. I keep after it. I'll finish it eventually.

The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels by India Holton - I think I read one more chapter in this one. I moved it to my bedside table, so that if I get to bedtime and I haven't read a word all day, I can zip through a chapter before I go to sleep. It's still ridiculous fun.

Tonight I have game night, so no reading tonight. But tomorrow is clear until the pool party for dance at 6:00. On Monday, I have an appointment, then a breat before the exterminator comes. We have been seeing an inordinate number of brown recluse spiders in the house. Not sure why they aren't being reclusive. It's worrisome.
