Reading In/Out 8/11/2026

I didn't finish anything this weekend, but I did get further in all my books.

Who Is Government? by Michael Lewis, et. al. - I read an entire chapter of this one today at lunch. Only one chapter left! The end is in sight. I'm excited about reading the other books by these authors. I just finished the one by W. Kamau Bell, and I actually laughed out loud a couple of times during that one.

The Last Contract of Isako by Fonda Lee - Guess what? I'm in the last 150 pages of this one. At the 2/3 mark, roughly, the point of view changed. Instead of following this woman who is trying to find out what happened to her former mentee, we are now following said mentee in the last year of his life. We know it's the last year because she had already discovered he was dead, and wants to know why. I do not know if it will go back to her point of view ever, but I hope so.

The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels by India Holton - This is still reidiculous and fun. I've only read a couple more chapters, but our villain has now stolen a flying house and that ladies of the Wisteria are in hot pursuit. In their own flying houses.

So there you have it. When I finish the government book, I have another book at the ready. Valiant Ambition by Nathaniel Philbrick. Nerd stuff.

Here's hoping for some reading time this week. I get off work at 11:30 tomorrow because I have to work Sunday afternoon. I would like to say I will use that time to read, but, realistically, I'll probably take a nap.
