Friday Reads 10/2/2026
Hooray for October! I feel like I just posted about it being the beginning of September, and here we are in October! I hope to read this weekend, but my weekend is cut short this time. Monday is Staff Development Day, and I am required to be there. Let's talk about what I might have time to read, if I'm lucky.

Humble Pi by Matt Parker - I'm still picking away at this one. I can usually get in 15 or so pages during a lunch. It's not terribly long, but I'm going pretty slowly.

Blockers by Michael Lewis - I am fairly positive I am going to finish this one today. I haven't looked at the October Advanced Listening Copies from Libro.fm, yet, so I haven't settled on another audiobook. I still need to find a Christmas song for the dancers, so I might have to focus on that for a minute.

The State of Sequoyah by Donald L. Fixico - I started this one last night. It's pretty dry, but it feels like it could be written for high schoolers. Those two things might cancel each other out and make it a regular kind of slog, instead of a dry slog. It's pretty short, but, as I said, It's a little boring. I've read the intro and half of the first chapter. I can't always figure out what happened. The language isn't entirely clear on who did what. Too many pronouns without enough clarification.
There we are then. You'll just have to wait until Tuesday to find out what I decided to listen to, next.
